Lovely Cupcake Card

Cupcakes: can't eat 'em... still love 'em. (if only for their aesthetic value)

Just a happy little card I made to say thank you to my in-laws for sharing some of my sister-in-law's beautiful gourmet cupcakes with my family. Aren't cupcakes just the happiest treats?!

Makes me want a gluten free cupcake right this moment!

All products from Bella Blvd and Close To My Heart

Joy

Good for you if you've made it through my last several "wordy" posts! That was as much as we managed to write while we were in El Salvador. We need to record everything soon, before the memories become fuzzy! We also need to download all our pictures! I'm dying to see them! Until than, just a quick happy card to share! I love the idea of a pretty little butterfly flitting about spreading joy!

Things that bring me joy right now:
Dolly taking a nap and snoring
Coldplay radio on Pandora
Lime-aids at Sonic and Iceberg
Seeing a post all about Miss Whitney here
Recent Hobby Lobby Purchases
Playing Piano and singing with Mauri
Fresh garden veggies
Falling asleep in Danny's lap every night this week
Decorating our camp trailor--Grey, teal, and orange (photos to come)
Finding that one line that I know was just for me in this great talk

Hope your day is full of joy too!

Lasting Love

Just made a pretty little card to say Happy 41st Anniversary to my dear parents today! I'm truly grateful for both of you! Your example of lasting love and happiness in marriage is beautiful. You are patient, thoughtful, and kind with one another. You look for the best in each other and in life. You've raised a beautiful family who love and honor you and the Lord. Here's to an eternity of happy moments together with one another and all of us who love you so much.

L

READ!

If you're in the Utah County area, June 4th from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM BYU is hosting the Utah Festival of Books. I'll be there running a booth where guests can come and make a simple bookmark. The event is free and there should be a lot of really fun activities going on!  Hope you stop by!

I Love You Mom

Today is my sweet mom's retirement party. After twenty plus years of teaching, she is ready to stay home and be a nana to her grandchildren. Mom, you have inspired me in so many ways. You are a remarkable woman. You have changed so many lives for good. Your gentle spirit and goodness has shaped the lives of hundreds of children, and I'm just lucky enough to be one of them:) Enjoy your day!

I Love You mom!

Just for Fun!

This little card came together so fast! I LOVE it! It's bright and cheerful... and just plain FUN!

Sometimes I worry that I'm not a very fun person... I'm pretty good at being serious and sincere... but letting loose is a bit more risky. In an attempt to convince myself otherwise, here is a little list of fun things I've been up to lately...

  1. Galavanting about Park City pretending to be fancy in my $12 Target fedora and big sunglasses
  2. Chasing the beavers along the roadside making silly noises at them
  3. Covering our home in colorful polka dots for Danny's birthday (I'll post photos soon!)
  4. Surprising Danny with a drive-in-movie date watching UP on my laptop and sharing grape sodas
  5. Coloring Easter Eggs with Jeni, Danny, and Mauri
  6. Helping put Mauri's hair clips in her uncles/papa's hair (It's easy to be fun with her around!)
  7. Singing and doing the actions to Popcorn Popping with Danny for Family Home Evening
  8. Playing ball with Dolly
Well... that is all I can think of. I suppose I'm not entirely dull. Phew! Time to go have more fun! Okay, I'll be cleaning, doing laundry, and preparing for this week's Young Women activity... but I may just whistle while I work;)

C is for Circus!

Meanwhile back under the Big Top...

Lest I worried you with my last post, I WILL still be sharing my cards and pages here on this little blog. The thing is, I have a studio FULL of beautiful paper, embellishments, and products that make me happy! So... I'll keep showing my creations here, but without the intention of seeking for recognition or approval. If I like it, I'll post it. No more cyber people pleasing!

I'm excited to introduce a new scrapbooking and design feature here this week! Stay tuned...

Pennant Party Favor

Thought I'd post another one of my little circus creations! I'm particularly fond of this one. I think it would be a perfect favor for a circus-themed party or event. Sweet. Pretty. Simple... And totally on trend! Makes me happy:)

Enjoy!

I was Hoping...

I've been really busy working in my studio lately. Recently I submitted a bunch of cards to the Paper Crafts publication... I was hoping, but this time none of them were picked up.

My work has been published hundreds of times and I've been in the industry for years, but nobody would know it. I worked under the corporate name, not my own. It's kind of unfortunate. I have the cover of a top selling book, but my name is no where to be found. Sometimes it makes me want to shout, I'm Lynley Johnson, and I made that!

Alas, here I am, essentially starting out on my own, but with years of experience and loads of determination. I'll find my way.

Splendid Day!

Just a little card with some extras from my recent "More than a Princess" page. Usually when creating a layout I end up with a few extra accents that just didn't work on the page. I always save those little bits and pieces because they're perfect for a quick card!

The sun is shining and spring is on the horizon. Have a splendid day!

I Like You

I made this cute little card for the front showcase display at CTMH a while ago. I've been saving it for the perfect occasion to give to my Danny. I love the little vintage silhouettes! So cute!! All products are CTMH exclusive.

I've had more artwork published with CTMH than I could ever begin remember. Thought I'd let you know that my work is currently featured in the Spring 2011 Idea book. Simply go to the CTMH site and click on products and the online idea book link. All of the following pages are mine: Pages 26-29, 60-61, 76, 82-83, and the right side of page 131. Enjoy!

A Note For You

Just a little card I put together today. It's got that vintage school-time look that I love so much. Simple and sweet. Perfect to share with that favorite teacher you've been meaning to thank! Enjoy!
