Life From the Passenger Seat: Sunday Stroll

This is probably my favorite Instagram snapshot ever. Danny and I were heading down to his parents on a Sunday afternoon when this picture perfect moment presented itself. It's hard to see, but driving the old fashioned car was a sweet elderly woman, with her aged husband in the passenger seat. They were out for a Sunday stroll, and it really couldn't have been a more beautiful day. I loved this. The adventures never have to stop, no matter how old you get. Someday that will be Danny and I... but probably in a green dune buggy. (oh... and I'd be the one in the passenger seat!)

Instagrammed: Hello Fall

I haven't had a ton of time to upload photos lately... sorry about that, but sometimes you have to live life in order to have something interesting to share;) Brisk bike rides, plaid shirts, and falling leaves... looks like Fall is really here! Bring on the boots, scarves, cardigans and (dairy free) cocoa!

Around Here

Joining Ali Edwards in sharing a little piece of my story here today...

Loving the fall colors and perfect autumn weather
Listening to Home by Philip Phillips
Feeling worn down and achy. Fibromyalgia is getting the better of me this week.
Dreaming of relaxing on the beach
Wearing a baseball hat, polo shirt, and blue jeans
Hard at work on some fun scrapbooking projects, tending the littles, and the last of this years canning
Putting off cleaning the kitchen
Savoring fresh tomato basil soup
Watching Burn Notice almost every single night with Danny
Reading this article to prepare for a lesson I'm teaching on Sunday
Looking forward to decorating the house for fall

Life is good.

Utah State Fair at Sunset

These are a few of my favorite things:
1. Going to the Fair
2. Photographing the Fair
2. Scrapbooking the Fair

Since I took ever so many photos at the State Fair, I thought I would break it up into a few seperate posts. Here are a few favorite shots from sunset. What a perfect date night with my Danny! This was our 5th State Fair together... It's one of our favorite traditions!

Can't wait to print these up and get scrapbooking with some of my new favorite paper...

Photo a Day: Catching Up

I've been going strong with the photo a day project this month--haven't missed a day yet! Some prompts have been much more interesting to me than others, but overall it has been a fun creative challenge. A few of these shots I love; a couple of them, not so much... but all together I think they really give a fun glimpse into my life! I can't wait to print them all up and put them in a little  Photo a Day August mini album!

13: Simple: Loving fresh garden tomatoes with salt these days!
14: Arrow: Work in progress
15: Ready: A completed photoshoot off for delivery. I'll have to post photos soon!
16: Food: Gluten and Dairy free hamburger. Veggie cheese slices, not so bad.
17: Faces: At the El Salvador restaurant to celebrate the one year anniversary from our trip
18: Inside: Just the inside of a cool wire candle holder. I was stuck on this one.
19: Hole: Flat tire on the trailer.
20: Today: Desktop calendar.
21: Cool: Our swamp cooler does a great job in this heat!
22: Home: While this is a pretty straightforward interpretation, I love that it shows the here and now!
23: Pair: In the kitchen

The Art of Canning

Danny's mom has been teaching me the art of canning. She's an expert! She knows her pressure cooker and can tell what to do just by listening to the sounds it makes. She knows the different processes for every fruit and vegetable and can put up a picking of beans or tomatoes while juggling a hundred different things. In a word, she is amazing! I sure appreciate all of her help and the time she takes to teach me skills like this! We're going to be enjoying those beans all year long!

Changes

Still playing around a bit with the look and functionality of this blog. I've considered starting something new entirely, but that doesn't really seem like the best option for now. While I planned on keeping a separate scrapbooking blog, I've found that I just prefer posting in one space. I'm not solely a scrapbooker or photographer-- they are both such a part of me and I can't seem to compartmentalize my life that way.

Muddling my way through HTML coding has proved to be quite the challenge, but slowly I am figuring things out and making this space what I want it to be. Thanks for hanging in there while this little blog of mine continues evolving.

Disneyland Instagrams

Oh Disneyland! What a wonderful magical place! I knew I would love it, but it even exceeded my lofty expectations! I must admit, I may or may not have cried a handful of times--I was just so happy! (Tears on the train, tears on It's a Small World, tears at the parade, tears at the World of Color, tears at Fantastmic, you get the idea...)

I didn't take very many photos--I was simply too busy enjoying the moment and taking it all in! I did, however snap a handful of photos on my phone to send to Miss Mauri and Mister Lincoln at home. I knew Miss M. would enjoy seeing all of her favorite characters in "real life" on Nana and Papa's phone. Oh how I wish they could have been there! (I cried about that too.)

I'm already dreaming about our next trip;)

Summer Adventures: Biking

My summer photos are piling up faster than I can document them! So... I thought it would be fun to do a little summer photo series with snapshots of the little moments that make up our days. Here's a look at one of our favorite summer activities, riding our tandem bike. It's kind of become our trademark around the neighborhood and we love it! Sometimes I feel like we are quite the spectacle--every time we go for a ride strangers honk at us, high five us, and some just laugh at us... all in good fun I guess!
