Introducing: Simply Lynley Scrapbooking

Guess what?! I've been busily working on a little project that I'm excited to share with you! I'll be teaching scrapbooking classes over at the Orem Roberts Crafts Store. I've set up a blog just for my scrapbooking classes here. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Wish I had time to say a bit more, but I have a girls camp to finish preparing for... making 17 handmade albums and custom stationary. Perhaps I took on a bit much?

On the Bright Side...

Top ten reasons to look on the bright side when I am sick:

1. I realize how blessed I am to have such a wonderful husband, family, and friends
2. Dolly becomes rather sweet and docile, doing her best to attend to me
3. It makes me grateful for the times when I feel healthy and strong
4. It forces me to step back and simplify
5. It humbles me and reminds me that it's okay to ask for help
6. It reminds me to care for others in need; so many others have such harder challenges.
7. It makes me grateful for simple, clean, healthy food
8. It saves money because there's no better way to remember I should never ever eat out
9. It reminds me how grateful I am that I can be working from home
10. It gives me time to read, write, create, or just take a nap if that's the best I can do

Designer Quality

These days I'm learning a lot about myself. I'm learning my limits and building confidence in my strengths.  I am designing a life I love. Design work takes practice and patience. It takes confidence and creativity. Often it requires a step back and a willingness to start over. Authentic designers do not follow the crowd, but share their own unique interpretation. All great designs take time, but in the end are well worth the effort and struggle.

Vintage Goodness and More...

Mom and Dad's basement is a treasure trove of vintage goodness. This darling picnic basket with charming handsewn vintage lining was a happy little find! I saw it and immediately thought of all the photo possibilities! YAY!

Sweet little Lincoln is such a good sport! First I put him on a suitcase, now in a picnic basket... what will I think of next? He just smiles and lets me take his picture like it's no big deal! He's sure a sweet little guy!

I attemped to take more basket photos with Miss Mauri over at the field; however, two slithery snakes later and I was rethinking my favorite location! I don't do snakes. Not at all! On the other hand, Mauri and Dolly were quite interested in their new creepy field friends.

Anywho... back to happier things, I've got two photoshoots booked this week and lots of scrapbooking projects in the works! Can't wait to share;)

Enjoy,

Take a Chance!

Just a pretty little page to remind myself to get out there and take a chance. The title and journaling are inspired by my favorite empowering theme song, "Whole Wide World" by Mindy Gledhill. Life is full of opportunities just waiting for me! I'm gonna go and take a chance...

Moments and Memories

Just a little something pretty today! Funny how flowers are so often related to memories. I will always think of my grandma Dowdle when I see lilacs and peonies in full bloom. I remember her yard was always so lovely and fragrant...

Because of all the rain this year, the peonies didn't last too long, but they sure were beautiful for a few short days! I guess that's the beauty of capturing and documenting memories... The moments come and pass so quickly, but the memories can last forever.

Mr. Frog

Oh the frog... When I first met Danny he often spoke about going for a drive in "The Frog." I wasn't quite sure what this meant. Four years later, and I am now well acquainted with Senior Frog himself. Allow me to introduce you to Danny's beloved dune buggy, aka The Frog. He loves this thing. He even drove it across mexico, just for fun.

Oh that boy of mine! Thus far this summer we've been up the canyon in the frog, driven Burt the Motorbike about town, gone on scooter rides, and are considering purchasing a cruiser style tandum bicycle. I'm not really the most adventurous girl, but Danny sure loves these sort of things. I'm usually nervous at first, but end up having a fun time on our little outings! We're quickly running out of space in our garage, but what's a wife to do;) It makes him happy, and that makes me happy.

You at 2

Just a happy little page to celebrate Miss M at two. She's quite the talker and smart as can be! The other day she corrected her Nana informing her that a diamond is actually a rhombus. (I didn't even know that!) She can't get enough of being outside on the swings and playing with her beloved puppy pal Doll Doll. She's learning to love her baby brother softly. For a girl who never swallows her food, she sure does have an unlimited source of energy! She loves life and knows how to celebrate the little things! She's a cutie.

One Year Older...

When I saw the vintage inspired background paper with the number '29 and the word "happy," I knew I had to do a birthday page! It was meant to be...

I had a birthday, shout horray! One year older and happier too... Can I really be 29 already? How did that happen? Ready or not, the BIG 30 is coming fast.!! Here's a little list of 29 for 29. We'll check back in a year and see how I did... There's a lot I want to accomplish this year, but I guess the most important thing is just to find happiness in the little moments and to recogize all of the amazing blessings I have.
