Hello Good Looking!

One more shot from golden hour at the park... Hello good looking!

I am beyond blessed to be married to Danny. He is the kindest, hardest working, happiest person I know. He's always going out of his way to help others, myself included. He can figure out a way to build or fix anything. We're always dreaming up ideas together... and there's nobody I'd rather make those dreams come true with.

I sure do love my Danny!!

Dude...

Danny's grown up spending a lot of time on the beach. While I tend to prefer spending my time on the sand, he loves being out in the water... Here he is riding the tide at dusk. He loved skim boarding and I loved watching him show off his skills! He fit right in with all the local surfer dudes!

Exactly Five Years Ago...

Exactly five years ago today my Danny and I went out on our first date! (I always remember because it was two days before my birthday) Honestly, it was magical! It was the best first date I had ever been on and I knew that very day that there was something different about him, about us. There were shooting stars. (literally... though I was the only one to see them.) Five years ago today our adventures together began. Five years ago today I found my best friend and dearest love. I sure do love my Danny!

Choose our Adventure: Anniversary Date

Danny and I switch off who is in charge of planning our anniversary date every other year. (We stole that idea from my cousin, I think.) I was in charge this year, so I planned a "Choose Your Own Adventure theme. I attached several envelopes to balloons, numbered them, and placed them throughout our home. Inside each envelope was a card with a selection of choices as to where we should eat, what we should wear on our date, where we would go for an activity, etc. Danny surprised me and choose to go on our date dressed in cowboy apparel! We went to the Pizza Pie Cafe where I enjoyed the gluten free pizza and pasta, and Danny could eat all the cheese and gluten he desired.

He surprised me again by choosing to go on a drive instead of bowling or mini golf. We had a lovely drive around town and reminisced about all the drives we've been on throughout the past five years. We remembered that first drive we went on, the drive that changed it all, when I boldly admitted that I'd wouldn't mind if he asked me out. That was rather out of character for me, but somehow I was blessed with confidence and courage in those early days... tender mercy.

It was a perfect evening out and a happy way to celebrate two years of marriage and many happy adventures together.

Best Two Years...

Happy Second Anniversary to us! I couldn't ask for a more caring, sweet, and thoughtful companion. He's more than I could have dreamed of and I thank the Lord everyday for bringing us together. It's been the best two years--though it feels much longer-- I can't remember what it was like to be without him. Here's to an eternity together with my best friend! I sure do love My Danny!!!

Lucky To Have Him

Well aren't we just cute?! I took some family pictures over the weekend for the Johnsons while Danny's sister was in town. After lots of group shots, I asked Danny's mom to snap a few pictures of us--I'm so glad I thought to ask, because I just love them! I'm feeling pretty good about keeping my resolution to take more pictures of us together!

I'm so proud of my Danny who is now the newest member of our ward bishopric. He's simply wonderful and so willing to serve others. (Turns out being the wife of a member of the bishopric means lots of cold dinners, and sitting alone on Sundays... but I'm certain it will also bring many blessings into our family!) I'm sure proud of my Danny! I'm very lucky to have him.

Sunday Best

You know how I said I wanted more pictures of Danny and I together? Well... we had a sneaky idea to get more photos of us... I take pictures for the ward directory on Sundays, so I figure if we just ask someone to take one of us now and then, we'll have a little collection of photos in no time!! I think I'll make a little album out of them as we add to the collection...

Year in Review: Danny

Handsome, handy, and fun... I'm pretty extra lucky!! These are my top favorite pictures of Danny throughout 2011. (Sorry so many photos, but I did manage to narrow 65 classic photos down to 15.) My Danny is so much fun to be married to and I consider myself very blessed to have him! I love his silly side in some of these shots... he takes it in stride when I want to take pictures for every occasion. This boy is model material. I sure do love my Danny!!

Mr. Frog

Oh the frog... When I first met Danny he often spoke about going for a drive in "The Frog." I wasn't quite sure what this meant. Four years later, and I am now well acquainted with Senior Frog himself. Allow me to introduce you to Danny's beloved dune buggy, aka The Frog. He loves this thing. He even drove it across mexico, just for fun.

Oh that boy of mine! Thus far this summer we've been up the canyon in the frog, driven Burt the Motorbike about town, gone on scooter rides, and are considering purchasing a cruiser style tandum bicycle. I'm not really the most adventurous girl, but Danny sure loves these sort of things. I'm usually nervous at first, but end up having a fun time on our little outings! We're quickly running out of space in our garage, but what's a wife to do;) It makes him happy, and that makes me happy.

It's Been a While...

So, I know.... it's been a while since I posted any paper-crafted goodness. Sorry about that. Just a quick page to say, "Yes I really do scrapbook!"

A long time ago Danny was just a friend. I remember the moment perfectly. My friend Cindee at work said, "You know, he sounds like he would make a FUN husband!" Well... thanks Cindee for putting the idea in my mind, obviously it stuck;) She was right, he's my best friend and a very FUN husband too!! For a girl who often worries about worrying too much, he reminds me to laugh and enjoy the little moments. There's nobody I'd rather enjoy life's adventures with!

Hello Babies!!

We had a great Lynley moment on our way home from Park City! As we were driving along Provo Canyon I spotted a furry little creature. We turned around and I hopped out with my camera. There by the roadside were three happy beavers! (I think these are beavers, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.) I squeeled and started making the best beaver noises I could think of... Danny reminded me to squeel on the inside so they wouldn't be scared away. Good thinking.

I was surprised because I thought beavers only lived in water. They were mischievous little babies, ducking in and out of holes just as I'd go to snap a photo... but I think they did like me a bit, because they let me get quite close and take several photos. Pehraps they appreciated my attempt to communicate with them in their own language, or they speak chipmunk... which is probably closer to the noise I was making at them;) I loved them. Thanks little guys!

Surprised!!

Danny surprised me with an amazing getaway to Park City for our anniversary. He had to be out of town for business on our actual anniversary... we were both really sad about that, but decided to celebrate the following day. I was just planning on making a nice dinner and exchanging gifts when his flight got in Sunday afternoon... so imagine my surprise when he handed me a suitcase and told me to pack! It was such a fun and thoughtful gift, and we had a lovely time! I felt utterly spoiled!! I used to think these things only happened in the movies... than I met Danny;)

I Love You More

Happy Anniversary Danny!

I love you more.
More than all the toile and vintage goodness in the world.
More than roaming the streets of Paris with camera in hand.
More than sitting at my piano for hours.
More than hot tamales.
More than the smell of rain.
More than a room full of scrapbooking supplies.
More than puppies and kitties (but please don't tell Dolly, okay?)
More than my favorite pair of yellow shoes.
I love you more than springtime.
More than a great hair day.
More than gluten free cookies.
More than Josh Groban, Mindy Gledhill, and Coldplay combined.
More than a new cardigan with coordinating accessories.
More than even the loveliest sunset at the beach.
I love you more than the day I fell for you.
I love you more than all the shooting stars and moonlight rides.
I love you more than the best of times.
I love you so much more than the hard times.
I love you more than the day you became my husband for time and all eternity.
I love you more than I ever knew I could love someone.
I love you so much more.
More than words can say.

With More Love,
L

One Year Later...

Photography by Mckenzie
Tomorrow is our first anniversary!

We've had a beautiful year full of lots of love. A few of the highlights:

A perfect wedding day!
Honeymoon to Mexico. We love the BEACH and SUNSHINE! (not so much the sunburns)
Danny's 27th birthday in El Quilete. Lola the parrot stole his wristband entrance back into our hotel.

Summer camping trips (I think Danny liked these a bit more than me)
Danny gave me a PIANO for my 28th birthday!
Lana and Brandon's wedding... photographing and celebrating! Trip to St George with Ruth.
Catching neighborhood drug dealers in our own backyard. (Danny definitely liked this better than me!)
An addition to our family... our puppy, DOLLY! She's such a cute little stinker;)
Decorating, organizing, redecorating, still organizing...
Lots of trips to the DI (thrift store) together
Park City with the Johnsons
Danny threw me a "retirement" party when I quit CTMH
Danny's company Christmas party. (Oops I did it again... karaoke queen, right here)
Our first Christmas
Steph and John's wedding
Season tickets to the local community theater
Danny attempting to teach me to ski
Everyday moments just spending time together
Looking forward to our trip to El Salvador this summer
Good things to come...

Of course we had our fair share of challenges too... but we've made it through them together. I am so grateful for my Danny and for our many blessings. I love you more Danny;) Happy Anniversary!

We failed miserably at catching up with thank you notes. I'm so embarrassed. To all of you who helped make our day beautiful and shared so much with us... THANK YOU! Your kindness was truly not overlooked. We appreciate your generosity and love so much.

With Love,
L
