The Everyday Ordinary

I love capturing little moments like this. So everday and ordinary, but a perfect look at our lives. We spend a lot of time outside. The sunshine does us both so much good!! I really should just set up a little table and work outside, I'd get so much more done! After running around for a bit Miss Dolly always returns right to my side. She never strays too far from me... She's such a sweet little companion. Oh, I just love her so much!!

Poor Little Rabbit

A few days before Easter, a certain little girl and a certain little puppy found Nana's hidden stash of Easter treats and presents. Miss Mauri and Miss Dolly were both rather pleased with the wonderful treasures they had found-- little rascals! This poor little stuffed rabbit was so cute for a short while-- now it's another well-loved chew toy, emptied of all it's stuffing.

Dolly also enjoyed an Easter hunt for a new bone from Aunt Steph-- she's one happy little pup!

Hello Dolly

Miss Dolly got a haircut, so naturally she needed some new portraits. Poor baby can't stand going to the groomer, but she sure does look cute!!

These days she loves:
Playing in Nana and Papa's backyard
Begging for food.
Playing with her stuffed lion, Lionel Part 2 (as seen above)
Licking Lincoln's mouth whenever we aren't looking
Taking naps on my lap
Playing with her blue basketball
Looking out the window
Opening cabinets--scavenging for food and toys
Sleeping in our bed when Danny goes to Sunday morning meetings
Playing fetch
Shaking

Oh I love this little pup so much!

Profiled

Sorry for profile photo overload, but these shots just make me too happy! This little girl has my heart completely. Just look at that face... she's adorable!

Miss Dolly and I were quite busy taking care of three other dogs last week. That's right, it was a regular three-ring-circus doggy daycare around here! Secretly, I think she and I are both rather happy to have a more quiet week ahead. Dolly is happy to have all her toys to herself and I'm happy not having to clean up so many messes.

Snowy Days

That's my sweet little Doll Bear loving her some snow! (She must get that from Danny. He loves the snow--even driving in it! Silly boy.) I'm glad they can appreciate it. As for me, I'm counting down till Spring. As far as I'm concerned, nothing good comes of a snowy day. (yesterday proved that to be true) Okay, well... the snow IS really pretty and it DOES make my husband and puppy happy, so those are good things. Oh, and it makes for a some pretty beautiful photos too, but other than that...

As for yesterday's no good snowy bad day, boy oh boy did I develop a spectacular allergic reaction! The other night my eyes were bothering me and my face felt unusually sore and tender. I woke up yeterday morning with my eyes swollen shut. My face was so swollen I hardly recognized myself. I gotta say, it wasn't a pretty sight to behold. I tried to take a benadryl and stay inside, (not wanting to face the public) but it only got worse as the day went on. After a nice trip to the doctor and a lovely shot in the you-know-where, a lot of the swelling has gone down. Now I'm just sporting some fancy red racoon eyes. Hoping it all clears up soon, and that I can figure out the cause. As for now, the doctor took me off my new Fibromyalgia medication, thinking it may have been the culprit. Hoping I can find a medication that my body doesn't reject one of these days!

I blame the snow;)

Yawn...

I think Miss Dolly was yawning when I took this picture. It's just too cute not to share!! She loves the fashionable little black sweater Steph gave her for Christmas. She's also rather fond of the giant bone we got for her at Target on Black Friday. Some people braved the lines for TV's... not us. We were there at two in the morning for a giant bone and some dvds. Priorities.

A Sunny Day Story

It's officially winter and although we haven't had much snow, I'm pretty much ready for Spring... sigh. So, today I felt like sharing a sunny day story. (Not pictured, Miss M. taking the popsicle from her mommy in the first place.) Love the story these shots tell. Oh boy, Dolly sure was due for a haircut back then!! These are the REAL stories. Nothing posed, nothing contrived, just real life moments! Oh that sunshine and those little faces sure make me happy!!

Hello Dolly

It's been a while since I indulged in some puppy love photos. Oh I just love that little face so much!! Miss Dolly is quite interested in helping us decorate for Christmas and insists on wearing her holiday sweater, though it's a bit snug. She especially likes to stand on top of the couch, lean as far as she can reach towards the bookshelf, and peek in the her stocking to see if Santa's left her anything yet...

Today I'm busy working on too many projects-- Sewing, crafting, photographing, editing, and scrapbooking our December. More December Daily pages and some Christmas creations to share soon!!

Glamour Shots

My little Dolly (aka: Doll Doll, Doll Bear, Baby Doll, Baby Bear, Bitty Bear...) is just so sweet! I missed her so much while we are in El Salvador! All those sad little stray dogs did not help! Broke my heart!

Judging by the pictures, she is due for another haircut! Taking her to the groomer can be a bit traumatic...  Did I ever tell you about that time that we tried to give her a haircut ourselves?! Oh what a disaster!! Five hours later and we were covered in scratches while she looked like an El Salvador stray. The following Monday I had to take her to groomer to fix what we had done! (They had a good laugh.) Poor baby!

Oh I love my Dolly Bear!!

Puppies Puppies Everywhere!

We've had our fair share of furry fun here at the Johnson house! Over the weekend we watched our neighbor's dogs and this week Dolly and I are tending her cousin Millie.  (Isn't she so CUTE?!)

Dolly doesn't quite realize she's so much bigger than the other pups! I think at first they were all a bit scared of her, but after a little bit they've become good pals! Doll Doll is just so happy to have little friends to play with! That said, I think she'll just have to settle with me as her buddy when the others go home! Sorry Doll Bear.

Happy Memorial Day

Dolly wishes you a Happy Memorial Day!

Totally unstaged. I promise. One day Dolly was rustling around in the back room and I figured she was up to something. I called her and she came out waving her new-found treasure with pride! Of course I had to snap a photo! She's a very patriotic pup!

Grateful today for all those who serve our country and have fought for our freedom, including my brother-in-law John! Thank you!

Miss Mischief!

Dolly: "Mauri left her chocolate milk out! I've never eaten in my whole life. Here's my one chance."
Me: "I know that's totally disgusting, and I should discipline her, but it's too cute not to take a picture first!"

Dolly: "I didn't do it! I promise! I was just resting my head on the table, honest!"
Me: "Did I get that shot? Yes!" Now to show off my excellent pet parenting skills..."Dolly! Are you up at the table again?! You get down right now!"

Priorities people. It's all about getting the shot!

Oh Doll Doll!

Allow me to indulge myself in a pet owner's blogging moment. I love my little Doll Doll! She is such a good puppy. She knows lots of tricks and always obeys well... most of the time;) Dolly is quite protective of me and if she had her way, she'd sleep at my feet every night. For the first three months of marriage Danny begged me for a dog everyday. I am an animal person, no doubt about that, but I kept telling him we should wait till we were more settled. As you can see, that argument didn't last too long. Within hours of getting her though, she had my heart completely. She's MY dog and I love her. Sorry Danny for stealing your pet.

Enjoy!

Hello Dolly

It's hard to catch her looking at the camera, but she sure has a cute little profile! Dolly is five months old already. I love her soooo much! She's got such a sweet little personality. Sometimes she forgets and can be a bit naughty, but than she just looks at me with those big brown eyes and all is forgiven. I wasn't sure I wanted a pet just yet, but she pretty much won me over from the beginning. (Not actually a big surprise.)
